As we start to welcome warmer days (finally!), it’s time to say goodbye—for now—to those cozy winter sweaters.

If you’ve picked up some of our beautiful wool and cashmere sweaters this season, a little care now will help keep them looking their best for years to come. Here are all our little secrets:

Clean first. Even if your sweaters look spotless, we always suggest laundering them before storage. Body oils, perfumes, or even tiny crumbs can attract moths and cause damage over time.

Fold gently and store flat. Avoid hangers—they can stretch your knits out of shape. Instead, fold carefully and store flat in breathable cotton bags or canvas bins. Pillowcases work well in a pinch! Try to avoid plastic bins or vacuum-sealed bags, which can trap moisture and harm delicate fibers.

Use natural moth deterrents. Tuck cedar blocks or lavender sachets near your sweaters to keep them smelling fresh and moth-free.

Pick the right spot. Store your sweaters in a cool, dry place—like a high closet shelf or under the bed. Avoid damp basements or hot attics, which can cause mold or weaken fibres.

Taking these simple steps will help keep your beautiful sweaters looking fabulous, ready to pull out again when fall returns.

Best,

Aileen
