Designer Spotlight: Seasalt Cornwall!
Share
At Posh, we are thrilled to introduce Seasalt Cornwall, a brand that seamlessly blends artistry, sustainability, and timeless design. Founded in 1981 in Penzance, a picturesque town on the far western edge of Cornwall, England, Seasalt began as a general clothing store offering traditional workwear to local farmers, fishermen, and artists. Inspired by this vibrant coastal community, Don's sons, Neil, Leigh, and David, decided to create a clothing brand that reflected their surroundings. With the help of a growing team, they began designing their own collections, and thus, Seasalt was born.

Today, Seasalt is celebrated for its joyful colours, hand-drawn prints, and carefully considered fabrics, all created in-house by a talented team of artists, designers, and illustrators. Nothing is outsourced or generic. Their in-house artistry is the heartbeat of the brand.
Seasalt has long been a leader in sustainable fashion. In 2005, they became the first fashion company to be certified by the Soil Association for using organic cotton. Every step of their process reflects a commitment to ethical sourcing, employee well-being, and environmental responsibility.
They have achieved remarkable milestones:
- 100% of the cotton used in collections is fully traceable and certified organic
- 100% of the wool is certified to the Responsible Wool Standard
- 100% of the viscose is from responsibly managed plant sources and made using closed-loop systems
In addition, Seasalt has become an accredited Living Wage Employer, increasing salaries to ensure all employees earn at least the Real Living Wage. Unlike minimum wage or national living wage rates, the Real Living Wage reflects what people need to live comfortably in today’s economy. They have also enhanced pensions, benefits, wellbeing programs, and paid leave for all employees.

Seasalt is proud to be a Certified B Corporation, a distinction that is extremely difficult to achieve. Less than 5 percent of companies worldwide earn this certification, which requires meeting rigorous standards in social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
Being a B Corp means that Seasalt:
- Upholds ethical production and fair working conditions across all supply chains
- Uses sustainable fabrics and processes to reduce environmental impact
- Supports community and creativity, including local artists and employees
- Maintains transparency and accountability, continually audited to meet exacting standards
When you wear Seasalt, you are supporting a brand that values people, the planet, and responsible business practices as much as its designs. That is exactly the kind of thoughtful, conscious fashion we love to highlight here at Posh!
Best,
Aileen
