Summer time and the living is easy. Especially with some cool drinks to serve   I always use fancy glasses, it just makes the atmosphere feel extra special.  Here is some favourite combos.

Home made lemonade- Squeeze  a fresh lemons into a glass, Then slowly pour half the amount of maple syrup into the lemon juice.. It separates, so easy to gauge. Top with cold water. sprinkle a tiny touch of cayenne pepper. stir it up it delicious !
Fruit added to lemonade- Raspberry or Strawberries. I just mash them up put thought a tight sieve add to the lemonade. Let sit in fridge for at least 1/2 hour to infuse.
Rouge Lemonade - 3 parts chilled light red wine and 1-2 parts lemonade. For this I use the frozen canned.

Cole Slaw: New Orleans style. from Nigella Express Cook Book.
I head of white or Savoy cabbage
2 carrots
2 sticks celery
4 Spring onions
200 g Mayonnaise -best quality {preferably organic}
4 tabel spoons of buttermilk
2 tablespoons of maple syrup
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
100 g pecans fairly finely chopped
salt pepper to taste
 Trim cabbage shed it
Peel grate carrots finally slice celery and spring onions
Whisk together mayonnaise, buttermilk maple syrup and finger and coat the shaded vegetable with dressing.
season and toss the chopped nuts.
