A Poshalicious Day
For the last few years on Mother’s Day, I been getting together with my daughter and granddaughter for High Tea. We wear a fancy-dress and go to a beautiful hotel downtown. We have pots of tea, little sandwiches and tiny little cakes while listening to classical music.
So, this year we will need to be creative, perhaps using Face Time. I will set a nice table with a nice tablecloth and pretty flowers. I will make little sandwiches (cut into finger size with no crusts) and drink tea out of dainty porcelain teacups.
The sandwiches will include: cucumbers, cream cheese and chopped walnuts with dark rye bread; black forest ham on soft multigrain; chopped egg on white soft bread; a scone with clotted cream (or jam for this year).
Always supporting local, my Earl Grey tea is from Pippins and the scones will be from Loblaws or Cobbs. To add to the atmosphere, I will put on George Winston- Spring Carousel on Spotify.
No matter how you spend your day, I wish you peace and contentment. Treat yourself to something uplifting that works for you.
